Iran-HRM – Ronak Aghaei was transferred to Mahabad Prison on Wednesday, April 4 to serve her six month prison term given to her by the Revolutionary Court.
Aghaei was detained in September 25, 2017 in connection with her reaction to the referendum for independence in Iraq’s Kurdistan. She was detained in Mahabad and later transferred to Orumieh.
She was previously detained in the 80’s in Orumieh Prison for five years on charges of cooperating with Kurd parties that oppose the government.
