Interior Ministry Officials Says More Rules Needed For Internet Control To Curb Protests

Iran-HRM – The state-run Donyaye Eghtesad Daily on March 8, quoted the Deputy Interior Minister as citing the recent protests and said that the government did not face such things in the past.

“We did not have such phenomena in the past … these protests were very rapid and generally spread in small towns,” Deputy Interior Minister Hossein Zolfaghari said.
Zolfaghari said that one of the components of the protests was the maximum use of cyberspace which led to the flaring of protests.

“Before it’s too late, we have to deal with cyberspace as we have dealt with the real space and determine laws and frameworks for it,” he stressed.
