Iran: Women Opposing Mandatory Veil Get 1-10 Years Of Prison

Iran-HRM – The Police have announced that “encouraging people not to wear the hijab is subject to the second paragraph of Article 639, which carries 1 to 10 years of prison and cannot be converted into a substitute penalty”.
“This crime is an evident crime and the police have the duty to deal with crime”, the Police announced. The state-run Mehr news agency and the state-run Aftab website reported the news on February 23, 2018.
