Osman Mostafapour; 27 Years Imprisonment without Furlough

HRANA News Agency – Osman Mostafapour, political prisoner in Urmia prison has begun the 27th year of his imprisonment without furlough. In 1994, He was sentenced to a total of 35 years in prison in two separate cases.


Osman MostafapourAccording to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Osman Mostafapour, born in 1967, was arrested on July 14, 1991. He was sentenced to death on charge of murder by branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court in Urmia by Judge Javaheri. The sentence was commuted to 10 years imprisonment in 2000.

Osman Mostafapour was summoned to branch 3 of the Revolutionary Court and was sentenced to 25 years in prison in the second case on charge of cooperation with the Kurdistan Democratic Party.

This prisoner of Uremia prison has not had any furlough during these 26 years. Close sources to Mr. Mostafapoor told HRANA’s reporter, “The rest of his sentence could be pardoned by the commission of pardon, but this has not happened yet”.

Close sources to Mr. Mostafapoor told HRANA’s reporter, “Considering that at the judicial system, each month imprisonment is 30 days and every year 6 days would be added to it and this makes 5 months for 26 years impressment, that’s why he has entered the 27th year of his imprisonment.”
