Manijeh Mir-Emadi, Iranian artist and founder of Tavoos Art Magazine, has departed this world

PayvandNews – Sorrowfully, Manijeh Mir-Emadi (Naseri) painter, the founder and editor in chief of the first bilingual art magazine of Iran and Iranian Art Publishing left this world on the early hours of Saturday June 10, 2017.


The Sky wrecks the ship of Art-masters

Better not to lean on this hanging sea

Her main concern particularly in the past twenty years was to introduce Iranian Art and Artists to the world and lovingly devoted all she had in this path.

Our condolences to all the art-lovers in Iran and abroad.

Her absence will be a great void for the art of this land.

Mir-Emadi’s funeral will take place on Monday June 12, 2017 from Pars Hospital to the Artists’ piece in Behesht Zahra graveyard.

Her Commemoration ceremony will take place on June 14, 2017 at 14-15.30 in Noor Mosque at Fatemi Square in Tehran.

Manijeh Mir-Emadi (Naseri) began her activity as an art-publisher in the 1990s presenting a series of bilingual exquisite art books on the life of influential Iranian visual artists together with evaluation and critical analysis of their works. This was indeed a significant event both with respect to book publication and also visual arts.
