Press Release of International Organisation to Preserve Human Rights.

18 March 2017, Geneva – During the recent meeting of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, Mr Garib Abadi of Iran’s ruling regime, in response to United Nation’s criticism of Iran’s Human Rights violations, stated that the actions of the Iran’s judiciary are based on ‘religion and custom’ of the country, and are not based on Western secular-liberal principles and therefore any criticism based on Western principles is irrelevant.
 
Its our aim in the following pantographs to inform all international human rights observers, the type of actions that constitutes in Mr Gharib Abadi’s mind and in the mind of the Iranian regime as ‘Islamic customs’. 
 
First example: Financial corruption.
 
Clear example of this type of corruption was highlighted by the revelations on Dorr TV global news network and Amad news telegram Channel with regard to the sixty-three secret bank accounts of Mr. Sadeq Amoli Larijani, the head of the Iranian judiciary, and the member of the Iranian parliament. In these reports, it was clearly shown that Mr Larijani over many years had blatantly redirected Judiciary funds, profits and all judiciary fines to these accounts, all for his personal gain. All which was not only not reported to the Iranian parliament, but it was also a clear violation of the Iranian law.
 
So it is clear that in the eyes of the the Iranian judiciary system, these illegal acts committed by the head of the judiciary, Mr Larijani, are not only correct, but at the same time consistent with their views on ‘Islamic customs and laws’. While at the same time, the same judiciary system, has not only prosecuted Ms. Faiza Rafsanjani on charges of expressing her opinions on this corruption issue, but also has sentenced her to six months imprisonment.
 
Second example: Sexual immorality and Corruption.
 
The second example concerns the inaction of the judiciary system against those who, within the regime, perpetrated sexual crimes against young children. Despite the fact that the individuals who committed these crimes (paedophiles) have confessed in their own words and in nine hours of audio recordings, to these acts and also have repeatedly written letters of repentance, yet none of these individuals have been prosecuted for theses acts by the judiciary system. Meanwhile their victims are constantly harassed and threatened by the security services. This violation of law is clearly another example of ‘religion and custom ‘ of the Iranian judiciary system, as referred to by Mr. Gharib Abadi!
 
The third example – Stalinist confession
 
Other examples of the types of judicial procedures referred to by Mr Abadi as ‘religious custom’ is the arrest, interrogation and obtaining false confessions through the use of torture. An example of this type of action is the interrogation and confession of Mrs. Hengameh Shahidi who according to reliable news from various Human Rights organisations, was interrogated in Evin prison, and was forced to confess, after undergoing intense inhuman Stalinist practices and torture, to having secret relations with the factions of reform movement in order to discredit the reform officials in the public eye and destroy their reputation in the upcoming Presidential Election. 
 
The fourth example – Hostage taking
 
Under this plan, the Iranian regime, in a systematic way invites or incentivises dual nationals like Mr Nezara Zaka (a Lebanese -American ) or Mrs Nazanin Zagheri (a British – Iranian)  to return to Iran. Then whilst these dual nationals are in Iran, under an elaborate scheme they are arrested for espionage and by using their falsified confessions, (usually obtained under duress) as basis for  long prison sentences and  solitary confinement. All of which provides the Iranian regime with the pretext to negotiate their release with the West, when it suits them or to use them as pawns in their political negotiations and relations with the West. 
 
The most recent victims of this fabricated hostage taking in Iran, are Ahmad Jalalian and Reza Shahini. Dr Reza Jalaian who was arrested eleven months ago under charges of espionage is currently on his 87th day of hunger strike. Mr Shahini who is an Iranian American who was arrested July last year for spying was subsequently sentenced to 18 years in prison.
 
In all these cases the rights of citizenship, fairness and humanity are clearly violated and ignored by the Iranian regime which continues to use Stalinist methods and ways to deal with its citizens, in a Mafia like manner.
Therefore people like Abdolfattah Soltani, Arash Sadeghi, Ayatollah Mohammad Reza Nekounam, Mohammad Ali Taheri, Narges Mohammadi, Ismail Abdi, E. Mazandaran, Ali Shariati and other political prisoners and anyone else who wants to voice their protests against the Iranian regime is immediately dealt with in the above cruel manners. 
The International Organisation to Preserve Human Rights, would also like  to clarify that Mr  Gharib Abadi’s version of ‘Islamic Customs’ in reality has nothing to do with Islam or Islamic customs in general. These inhumane actions not only have no legitimacy in terms of Islam, but they adherence to the Human Rights of Iranian citizens and  have no bearing with any type of customs.
 
Moreover, the International Organisation to Preserve Human Rights, would like to raise the attention of the UN Special Human Rights Rapporteur, Dr. Asemeh Jahangir, of these  bitter facts concerning the state of Human Rights in Iran. Furthermore, to advice her that instead of wasting precious time focusing on rejuvenating bilateral talks with the ruling regime in Iran, in regard to educating Iranian regimes on the the necessity to respect human rights and judicial procedures, but rather find a way to travel to Iran where she can meet with the families of those tortured and the victims of these human right atrocities in prison, so that she can have a direct and up to date state of Human Rights in Iran.
