HRANA News Agency – Eight political prisoners in Evin prison of Tehran, Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj and central prison of Tabriz have gone on hunger strike. Their condition is reported critical. Vahid Sayadi Nasir, Arash Sadeghi, Ali Shariati and Amir (Ali) Amirgholi all in Evin Prison and Morteza Moradpour in Central Prison of Tabriz. And also Foad Rezazadeh has gone on hunger strike in Rajae Shahr prison in Karaj. On the other hand, Mohammad Ali Taheri’s wife, announced the hunger strike of her husband in interview with HRANA until his freedom. Mehdi Rajabian who was on hunger strike and was released on furlough, is suffering severely from the consequences of this strike. All this while Siamak Mirzaee announced his decision to go on hunger strike.
According to the report of Human Rights Activist News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Mohammad Ali Taheri, Vahid Sayadi, Arash Sadeghi, Hossein Rajbian, Amir (Ali) Amirgholi and Morteza Moradpour in Evin prison and central prison of Tabriz and Foad Rezazadeh in Rajae Shahr prison in Karaj have gone on hunger strike since 15 to 56 days ago.
Arash Sadeghi had passed out during past nights and was under oxygen in the clinic of prison. Mr. Sadeghi at this time suffered a severe heart palpitation. The prisoner’s blood pressure during anesthesia, reached up to 8 on the fourth. Mr. Sadeghi has lost 15 kg of his weight.
A close source to him told HRANA: “the condition of Arash’s stomach and kidneys became critical and he even could not drink enough water.”
The doctor of clinic recommended Mr. Sadeghi to be sent to a hospital but his demand of not wearing a prison uniform and handcuffs and shackles was not accepted by the authorities.
The civic activist who is serving his 19-year prison sentence, has gone on hunger strike to protest against the arrest of his wife Golrokh Irai since October 24.
In ward 4 of Evin prison Vahid Sayadi Nadsir was transferred to clinic of prison and refused serum injection due to his critical condition. The political prisoner since the beginning of the strike has lost 20 kilograms weight.
On Saturday, the date of hearing of Court of Appeal have been notified to the political prisoner, but he responded that his demand was his transfer to his former ward (ward eight) along with other political prisoners.
Vahid Sayadi Nasiri, political prisoner of Evin prison started his hunger strike on October 16, in protest to being held in limbo, and undecided status of his case for 13 months. Mr. Sayadi was sentenced to 8 years in prison on charges of sacrilege, insulting supreme leader and propaganda against the regime, but after 13 months his appeal court session is yet to be held.
In regard to the two artist brothers in Evin prison, Mehdi and Hossain Rajabian, despite that Mehdi, was sent to furlough, but promising reports has not been achieved. Mehdi Rajabian who was sent to furlough after a one-month hunger strike on November 27, despite the end of hunger strike is still suffering from stomach bleeding and has lost a percentage of his sight.
The only news which is obtained about his brother, Hossein Rajabian, is severity and progression of his left kidney’s infection and his continued maintenance in ward 7 on the 33rd day of hunger strike.
The two brothers who are separated as punishment and being held in ward number 7 and 8 of this prison, are on hunger strike since Friday, October 28.
Ali Shariati is still in the clinic of the prison and his fate is unclear.
The political activist was arrested on November 10, while “doing administrative work in the municipality,” and transferred to ward 8 of Evin prison to serve his sentence of five years in prison. He had started a hunger strike on protest to his arrest since his arrival in the prison.
Amir (Ali) Amirgholi, political prisoner has gone on hunger strike due to lack of safety, lack of attention to him and being beaten, lack of medical attention to his injuries, lack of separation of prisoners based on their crimes since November 16, 2016.
Morteza Moradpour is also on the 56th day of his hunger strike in Central Prison of Tabriz.
On the other hand, Ziba Mohammedan in an interview with HRANA told about her husband who has gone on hunger strike: “Mr. Taheri at the beginning of his hunger strike, said in a conversation with me that he would keep going on hunger strike until his case was examined. In our opinion, it means his exoneration and release.”
Foad Rezazadeh, Sunni prisoner in hall 21 of ward 7 of Rajae Shahr prison in Karaj has gone on hunger strike to protest against the denial of his furlough, despite the death of his father.
A close source to the prisoner told HRANA’s reporter, “He has lost 9 Kg weight during the first 10 days of hunger strike and his physical condition is critical but no one responds to his demands.”
Also Siamak Mirzaee, political activist who was arrested close to a hundred and forty days ago in Damghan and then transferred to Evin prison, had announced during a phone call to his family that he had gone on hunger strike to protest against the security forces’ intervention in the judicial process since December 3.
