52 Death Row Drug Offenders Being Kept in Great Prison of Tehran

HRANA News Agency – At least 52 young drug offenders whose execution sentences have been approved, are waiting to be handed to the gallows in the Great Prison of Tehran (Fashavieh). The prisoners are all younger than 32 years old.


According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), at least 52 young drug offenders whose execution sentences have been approved, are waiting to be handed to the gallows in the Great Prison of Tehran (Fashavieh).

Currently 32 prisoners in Diversity 1 and 20 prisoners in Diversity 2 of this prison, a total of 52 prisoners with death sentences, are kept on death row.

An informed source had previously told the HRANA: “After the strikes and riots by death row prisoners at Unit 2 of Ghezelhesar prison, 100 inmates of this prison were transferred to the Great Prison of Tehran, known as Fashavieh.”
